First Trailer for Showtime’s ‘The First Lady’ Releases

The first trailer for Showtime’s anthology drama series The First Lady has been released. Created by Aaron Cooley, the series is headed by and star-studded, award-winning cast including Viola Davis as Michelle Obama, Michelle Pfeiffer as Betty Ford, and Gillian Anderson as Eleanor Roosevelt. Additionally, the series also stars O.T. Fagbenle, Aaron Eckhart, and Kiefer Sutherland as Presidents Barack Obama, Gerald Ford, and Franklin D. Roosevelt respectively. We can anticipate hearing much more about this series as awards season grows closer.

The plot synopsis reads: “A revelatory reframing of American leadership through the lens of the First Ladies. Starring Viola Davis as Michelle Obama, Michelle Pfeiffer as Betty Ford, and Gillian Anderson as Eleanor Roosevelt, this series delves deep into the Ladies’ personal and political lives. Exploring everything from their journeys to Washington, family life, and world-changing political contributions, the impact of the White House’s women is no longer hidden from view.”
