We return one again to the Wizarding World cinematic universe with this third installment in the Fantastic Beasts franchise, Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore. The upcoming film, helmed by Wizarding World veteran David Yates, is set to be released on April 15, 2022.
The story picks up where the previous installment, The Crimes of Grindelwald, ended and follows Newt and friends as they aide Albus Dumbledore in his fight against the Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald and his growing base of followers.
Returning to the film includes the likes of Eddie Redmayne, Jude Law, Dan Fogler, Ezra Miller, Alison Sudol, Callum Turner, Jessica Williams, and Katherine Waterston. Mads Mikkelson joins the cast playing Grindelwald, previously played by Johnny Depp.
With this third film set to premiere in the spring, it will join the Wizarding World franchise’s now steadily growing repertoire of films and other digital media projects. Acting as the next step in the Fantastic Beasts series, this film is certainly going to bring fans a lot of what is familiar, as well as new places and beasts.
