After taking over the domestic box office and becoming an audience hit, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is getting a sequel.
Destin Daniel Cretton, director of the first film, has signed a deal with Marvel Studios to direct and write a sequel. Star, Simu Liu, will return. This deal also includes the development of new Disney+ series for Marvel as well. It is unknown what these projects may be, but more is sure to come.
These titles are in their infancy, but the announcement comes as a welcome one given Shang-Chi’s cultural impact and critical reception for this year in movies.
