New Trailer and Poster Released for Pixar’s ‘Turning Red’

The latest trailer for Disney/Pixar’s Turning Red is now upon us and will mark Bao director Domee Shi‘s feature debut, through a coming-of-age story on a young girl transforming into a Red Panta whenever she gets too excited. Shi has also written the film’s script with Julia Cho, and the movie will star Rosalie Chiang, Sandra Oh, Orion Lee, Wai Ching Ho and James Hong.

The movie will mark Pixar’s first theatrical release since Onward, due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the first Pixar feature to be solely directed by a woman.

The official plot synopsis of the movie from Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures reads that the movie “introduces Mei Lee (voice of Rosalie Chiang), a confident, dorky 13-year-old torn between staying her mother’s dutiful daughter and the chaos of adolescence. Her protective, if not slightly overbearing mother, Ming (voice of Sandra Oh), is never far from her daughter—an unfortunate reality for the teenager. And as if changes to her interests, relationships and body weren’t enough, whenever she gets too excited (which is practically ALWAYS), she “poofs” into a giant red panda!”

Alongside its new trailer, Disney and Pixar have also released a poster which you can look at below:

You can watch the trailer here and see the movie exclusively in theatres March 11th:
