Disney/Marvel Studios’ Eternals – directed by Academy Award-winning director Chloe Zhao – repeated atop the North American box office this weekend with an estimated $27.5M — a drop of 61% from its $71.3M opening.
For the past little while, there hasn’t been too much to offer at the theatre for families to watch, but that changed this weekend with the live-action film adaptation of Clifford the Big Red Dog directed by Walt Becker. This weekend at the box office, the film managed to pull in a total of $16.42 million.
Meanwhile, Denis Villeneuve‘s space-epic Dune lands in third place this weekend, earning a total of $5.5 million, which sees the film take a -29% drop from last weekend, but it’s still holding relatively steady. Kenneth Branagh‘s new film Belfast earned a total of $1.8 million this weekend, landing in eighth place despite only playing on less than 600 screens.
