Steven Spielberg’s ‘West Side Story’ Has a New Trailer

It feels like it’s been quite a while since we have last heard about Steven Spielberg‘s remake of West Side Story, the beloved musical of the same name. The first trailer was released several months ago promising a December release but ever since that first trailer, there has been quite a bit of silence.

Thankfully today, that changes. A brand new, full-length trailer has officially been released for West Side Story which promises tons of toe-tapping musical numbers and plenty of emotions to go around.

For those who are unfamiliar with the original musical or the first film back in 1961, the story follows teenagers Tony and Maria, who, despite having affiliations with rival street gangs, the Jets and Sharks, fall in love in 1950s New York City.

You can take a look at the new trailer below:

West Side Story stars Rachel Zegler, Ansel Elgort, Ariana DeBose, David Alvarez, Mike Faist, Josh Andrés Rivera, Corey Stoll, Brian d’Arcy James, and Rita Moreno. It is scheduled to be released theatrically by 20th Century Studios on December 10, 2021.
