Ryan Reynolds Says Disney Wants ‘Free Guy’ Sequel

Free Guy, the newest feature film from director Shawn Levy starring Ryan Reynolds, Jodie Comer, Lil Rel Howery, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Joe Keery, and Taika Waititi, has only been in theaters for one day, so far raking in $10.5 million at the box office.

The film is proving to be quite the hit with critics and audiences alike (including Joey’s rave here), which is perhaps why Disney allegedly already wants to make a sequel to the new sci-fi action comedy flick, according to star Reynolds.

Today on Twitter, Reynolds posted a tweet stating his excitement about Free Guy finally releasing in theatres, and concluding with “Disney confirmed today they officially want a sequel. Woo hoo!”. You can see the tweet below.

Ryan Reynolds on Twitter: “Aaaannnnd after 3 years messaging #FreeGuy as an original IP movie, Disney confirmed today they officially want a sequel. Woo hoo!! #irony pic.twitter.com/85mMxW4owx / Twitter”

In addition to Reynolds’ tweet, Free Guy‘s distribution company 20th Century Studios retweeted the star’s post, and director Levy replied with “Yuuuuuuuup.”

Although Disney has not made an official statement on their own quite yet, it looks as though audiences will get to go on yet another adventure with Guy in the near future.
