Apple Could Be Close to Winning a Bidding War for the Jennifer Lawrence / Paolo Sorrentino Project

A bidding war amongst streamers seems to have a new frontrunner. Apple has reportedly offered a hefty bid to acquire the newest film starring Jennifer Lawrence about Hollywood agent Sue Mengers. The feature is to be directed by Paolo Sorrentino, who was previously attached to direct the adaptation of Mob Girl, also with Lawrence to star.

The film will center around Mengers career, who represented top talent such as Barbra Streisand and Cher and repeatedly took on the boys club of agents.

This film follows an exciting string of projects for Lawrence who will star later this year in Adam McKay’s doomsday film Don’t Look Up alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, Meryl Streep and Timothee Chalamet. Additionally, Lawrence has an A24 project in the works where she will play a wounded veteran and will be directed by acclaimed theater director Lila Neugebauer. More when we have it.
