‘The Green Knight’ Gets Pulled From UK Release Calendar

David Lowery, who previously helmed the thought-provoking thriller A Ghost Story, has a brand new, medieval-centered movie coming out next Friday in The Green Knight, leaving many film fans excited to see what the acclaimed director has up its sleeves. Our own editor Joey Magidson has already seen it and will have his review up in a matter of days.

However, if you live in the United Kingdom, don’t expect to see The Green Knight anytime soon. The film, which stars Dev Patel, has been officially removed from A24’s United Kingdom release calendar due to concerns relating to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The country removed virtually all restrictions on July 19, but that has coincided with a surge of the Delta variant, and numbers have been getting close to 50k per day, prompting fears of another lockdown.
