Palme d’Or Winner ‘Titane’ Gets Official US Release Date

Distributor NEON has officially announced the US release date for Julia Ducournau‘s Titane, coming off of the Palme D’or win less than a week ago.

In a Tweet from NEON on Friday, a new trailer for the film was shown which included a release date of October 1st 2021. You can see the trailer here:

Here is a quick rundown of Titane: Following a series of unexplained crimes, a father is reunited with the son who has been missing for 10 years. The film stars Agathe Rousselle and Vincent Lindon.

Whilst it is yet to be seen if Titane will be an awards contender, it is worth noting that the last winner of the Palme d’Or was Bong Joon-ho’s Parasite, a film that was not only the Best Picture winner of 2020, but was also distributed by NEON. Even if the subject matter is not something the Academy would normally gravitate towards, Titane has certainly become a film for Oscar pundits and film fans to watch out for when it officially releases in October.
