Continuing with a recent trend, Jean Smart once again shows she’s a force to be reckoned with, as she’s just joined the all-star cast of the upcoming Damien Chazelle film Babylon, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Smart has been making a comeback after staring in the HBO miniseries’ Watchmen (for which she was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series) and Mare of Easttown, as well as leading the HBO Max original series Hacks, for which she is receiving major Emmy buzz.
Babylon, written and directed by Oscar winning filmmaker Damien Chazelle, is rumored to be released in 2022, and while specifics about the plot have yet to be revealed, it is a period piece set in Hollywood during the transition from silent films to talking pictures.
Smart joins an all-star cast, including Margot Robbie, Brad Pitt, Samara Weaving, Olivia Wilde and Tobey Maguire just to name a few.
