Interview: George Sear of ‘Love, Victor’ Discusses Being a First Love as Well as Mentor

Actor George Sear stars as Benji in the Hulu original series Love, VictorLove, Victor is returning for a second season to tell the continuing story of high school student Victor Salazar who, in the aftermath of coming out, must now face new challenges – all while navigating a newfound relationship with boyfriend Benji (George Sear,) internal family drama, his on the rocks friendship with his ex-girlfriend Mia (Rachel Hilson), and being an openly gay athlete at school all force Victor to overcome these difficulties to get to the place he wants to be in living openly and proudly.

Awards Radar had the opportunity to speak with George on how his character Benji acts as both a first love as well as mentor to Victor after coming out as gay, the past alcoholism that Benji experienced that comes to the surface of his and Victor’s relationship, and new character Rahim posing a threat to their already-struggling relationship.
