‘Monsters at Work’ Trailer: Disney+ Series Trades Scares for Laughs

Pixar is about to make its series debut with Monsters at Work, the new animated sequel series to Monsters, Inc., launching almost 20 years after the premiere of the film. The original series will begin streaming on Friday, July 2.

The series follows the Monsters, Inc. employees as they navigate their new workplace as they no longer collect scream energy, but rather laugh energy.

The voice cast includes John Goodman, Billy Crystal, Jennifer Tilly, John Ratzenberger, and Bob Peterson briefly reprising their roles from the original film, as well as new additions like Bonnie Hunt, Mindy Kaling, and Henry Winkler.

Director Stephen J. Anderson announced his involvement with the project in February of 2020, announcing around the same time that voice recording had already begun. Featuring a stacked cast, a good premise, and some cool animation, Pixar’s first series is ready to joke its way to the top.
