Jonathan Majors to Join Michael B. Jordan in ‘Creed III’

Deadline reports that Lovecraft Country star Jonathan Majors will be playing the main antagonist in Creed III, written by Zach Baylin and Keenan Coogler, and set to be directed by Michael B. Jordan himself, who also plays the series’ main character, Adonis Creed.

After starring in The Last Black Man in San Francisco, Majors’ career has taken new and exciting horizons, as he’s now slated to play Kang the Conqueror in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and will appear in 2023’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Details of Majors’ role has been kept under wraps, with Deadline stating that the deal hasn’t been officialized just yet, since the studio is currently working through the logistics of Majors’ schedule.

Creed III already confirmed that Sylvester Stallone wasn’t going to return as Rocky Balboa and passes the franchise to a new generation, which will likely take the film in a different direction than before and fully making Adonis Creed the main character of the story. It should definitely be an interesting project to look out for, especially with Michael B. Jordan taking the directing reigns and having major control over the Rocky franchise. And with the addition of Majors in the mix, this could be a very exciting film when it’s slated to come out November 23, 2022.
