Amazon Studios certainly seems to enjoy being in the Tom Clancy business.
Their series Jack Ryan, starring John Krasinski in the titular role played by actors like Ben Affleck and Harrison Ford on film, is one of their most popular and acclaimed. It makes sense then that they’d want to get involved with another of the author’s properties, as we see in this adaptation of Clancy’s novel Without Remorse.
Starring Michael B. Jordan, the film gives us the origin story for John Clark, a Navy SEAL who uncovers an international conspiracy when investigating the murder of his wife.
It’s a classic Clancy role that’s been very popular on the page, and certainly Amazon is hoping to create a new action franchise with this film.
The film is directed by Sicario: Day of the Soldado helmer Stefano Sollima, re-teaming with his co-writer from that film, Taylor Sheridan.
Co-starring Jamie Bell, Guy Pearce, Jodie-Turner Smith, and Colman Domingo, Amazon has dropped the final trailer for the film today in anticipation of its April 30th debut on Amazon Prime Video.
