Phil Lord and Chris Miller have been making unlikely hits for over a decade now, creating massively successful franchises out of 21 Jump Street, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, and The LEGO Movie, while also winning Oscars for producing Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
They’re back in the animated world again, producing Netflix’s The Mitchells vs The Machines, and we’ve got our first look at the trailer for the film, which will debut on the streamer on April 30th.
Directed by Michael Rianda (Gravity Falls), the film tells the story of a dysfunctional family’s road trip being thrown for a loop when they find themselves in the middle of a robot apocalypse. They must then unite to join forces as humanity’s last hope for survival.
The voice cast includes Abbie Jacobson, Danny McBride, Maya Rudolph, Beck Bennett, Fred Armisen, Eric Andre, and Olivia Colman. You read that right, the one and only Olivia Colman.
The trailer promises a fun ride, and if Lord and Miller’s track record is any indication, this is one you’re definitely going to want to check out.
