James Marsden and Idina Menzel Returning to ‘Enchanted’ Sequel ‘Disenchanted’

We’ve known for a little while now that Disenchanted, the sequel to Disney’s 2007 live-action hit Enchanted was on the way, but details have remained fairly tight from the notoriously secretive studio.

While it was confirmed that Amy Adams and Patrick Dempsey would both be returning to reprise their roles in the sequel, we now have confirmation on some other cast members coming back, and the word has come from an unexpected source.

During a livestream with JLGB Virtual, 8 time Oscar-winning composer Alan Menken spoke about working on the new film, and he also revealed that both James Marsden and Idina Menzel are joining Adams and Dempsey for Disenchanted.

Marsden stole scenes in the original film as Price Edward, a self-obsessed prince with a heart of gold who got a lot of comedy mileage out of his utter confusion with the world of New York.

Menzel played Nancy Tremaine, a fashion designer who initially was romantically involved with Dempsey’s character, and ends the movie falling for Edward.

There’s no word yet on whether other actors may return, such as the villainous Susan Sarandon and Timothy Spall, but getting official word that Marsden and Menzel are back is huge news for the fans who have been waiting a long time to return to the universe of this film.
