Video Interview: The Cast and Filmmakers of ‘First Date’ Talk About Their Sundance Hit

"First Date" Interview

As much as the Sundance Film Festival is often a meat market for acquiring new films, it’s also a place to uncover new talent. The movie First Date, playing at the festival, is one such project that’s chock full of exciting newcomers. This goes for both in front of and behind the camera. The flick is exciting, unexpected, and a lot of fun, with some talent we’ll be seeing more of in the years to come. So, having seen the title before the fest began, I got the chance to chat with the stars and creative forces behind the film. You can see that interview next…

Below, you can see my conversation with the cast and filmmakers behind First Date. We have co-writers/co-directors Manuel Crosby and Darren Knapp, as well as stars Tyson Brown and Shelby Duclos. Considering how new all of them are on the scene, we spend a lot of time chatting about that. We hit on how the movie came to be, what it’s like to debut at this version of the Sundance Film Festival, and more. It’s a good discussion, light yet certainly informative. These are individuals that are going places, so look out for them in the future, as well as the flick itself!
