SAG Awards Pushed to April Due to Scheduling Conflict with the Grammys

The 27th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards will be postponed again, this time to April 4.

Initially postponed from January, the SAG Awards were slated for Sunday, March 14 at 8pm ET. Now, they are to be pushed back further due to the Grammys, recently postponed due to Los Angeles’ large surge in COVID-19 cases, taking the same time slot on the same date. The SAG Awards, a celebration of actors from one of the worlds largest acting unions (and a major Oscar precursor), will now move to April 4 at 9pm ET as a one hour special celebration. The nominations will be announced February 4.

Despite these changes, the guild still holds their spirits high, stating in an official press release that “Throughout these challenging times, our industry and our union members have proven their creativity and resilience…while adapting to new safety protocols and procedures. We embrace that spirit as we re-imagine the SAG Awards with a one-hour special that highlights and expands on our signature I am an Actor opening and honors the outstanding performances of the past year.”

Catch the SAG Awards on TNT or TBS Sunday, April 4, 2021 at 9pm ET.
