Start Talking about Steven Soderbergh’s ‘Let Them All Talk’

Check this out. Two Oscar record holders collaborated to make an unusual new project for HBO Max, and we now have our first substantial glimpse of it with the trailer premiere. Steven Soderbergh, the only filmmaker to defeat himself for a directing Oscar, and the Academy’s most-nominated actress, Meryl Streep, have teamed up for Let Them All Talk, scheduled to debut on HBO Max in December.

Though this film wasn’t shot during the pandemic, the story of its inception and creation is definitely unusual. As reported by Entertainment Weekly, the movie was shot aboard a cruise ship with very minimal equipment and no set script. As usual, Soderbergh is innovating while crafting a new bit of entertainment. Streep plays a writer traveling with her friends and nephew to get an award. Candice Bergen, Dianne Wiest, and Lucas Hedges also star.
