*all interviews took place pre-strike*

Michael Shannon spoke with Awards Radar about the power of music, the challenges, working on his singing voice, how proud he is of his Jessica Chastain and more:

George & Tammy (Showtime) – Lead Actor in a Limited Series – MICHAEL SHANNON: “I’m thrilled. I mean, I’m very proud of the show, I’m very proud of what Jess and I and the whole team put together… and this year, getting acknowledged in this way is it’s very moving, because it wasn’t easy. It was a big challenge trying to walk in these people shoes for Jess and I. We overcame a lot of fear and anxiety to get the job done. We relied on each other, and the fact that we’re both getting acknowledged in this way, it’s very moving. And I’m happy for Mitchell, our costume designer, I’m just very happy – the acknowledgement is means a lot.

Dahmer — Monster (Netflix) – Supporting Actor in a Limited Series – RICHARD JENKINS: “It’s a little humbling. And very grateful. I always think back to when I started acting, when I was a young actor, trying to figure out how I could make a life doing this, and how I could support myself and my family. My wife and I would talk about this when we were 22 we’re married young. I mean, if somebody had told me that this stuff would have happened to me, I wouldn’t have believed them. So it’s humbling.”

Kathryn Hahn, who spoke with Awards Radar shortly after the nominations were announced and before the SAG strike was called, had wonderful things to say about her role and her costars

Tiny Beautiful Things (Hulu) – Lead Actress in a Limited Series – KATHRYN HAHN:

“It’s so bananas! I’m just thinking so much about Cheryl today, just so happy and honored and really humbled to have been able to say her some of her words and work in this world… I’m so happy for Merritt. I just think she’s so extraordinary, and she was so extraordinary in this part. Just thinking of her face makes me want to start crying, in this role. I learned so much from her even though we got to share definitely not enough screen time at all, just because of the nature of, I guess, physics. I was way beyond her character when I came in, but she is an extraordinary performer and Ithink we all felt really, really graced by her performance as Frankie, so I could not be more happy for her. I also want to say, I feel very strongly that that Sarah Pidgeon, this remarkable actress that plays the young version of Claire is so in my heart today too because she’s one half of this character and I’m so humbled and grateful by what I learned from her.”

Succession (HBO) – Directing for a Drama Series “Living+” – LORENE SCAFARIA: “I’m deeply honored. And feel incredibly grateful to Jessie and everyone involved with the show, especially the writers to make everybody look good. Since all the ideas on screen are born out of these fantastic scripts, and I just love all of the actors on the show. I’m so happy for Sarah and all the boys. You know, just really rooting for for Mark and Andre each and since both of them it’s been such a major part of the show from the very beginning. You know, Mark, of course, sticking the landing. So yeah, that’s incredibly grateful to have been a part of this. So and very lucky, of course,”
